Experience across the spectrum

-Three years at Jackson Hewitt working face‑to‑face with individuals and preparing straightforward returns.

-Three years in large firms preparing complex filings: S‑corporations, partnerships, multistate individuals with dozens of K‑1s,  multi-state, trusts, estates, and gift tax returns.

-Time in a smaller firm learning the operational side of running an office and managing client workflows.

This range means I understand both the everyday taxpayer and the intricate needs of business owners and high‑complexity filers.

A nontraditional path that strengthens the work
I’m not the accountant who followed the straight line from high school to a cubicle. I took my first accounting class in High School, but my passion for fitness and love of science lead me to earning my first degree in Exercise Science from Towson University in 2013. After college I worked as a personal trainer, teaching physical education, and learning to manage my own investments — Which is when I learned to file my own taxes.

Those experiences taught me discipline, interacting with variety of clients, and maintaining proper document filing & security — skills that translate directly into accounting.

Choosing accounting with intention
I wanted a career that allowed me to flexibility, think deeply on complex puzzles, and help people in a meaningful way. Remote massage therapy wasn’t the answer, but accounting was. I earned my Master’s in Accountancy from California State University, Sacramento in 2019 and committed fully to the profession.

Building a practice with purpose
I believe people do their best work when they’re aligned with their values. I love reading, researching, and solving problems.

Accounting gives me the opportunity to work the way I desire.

What a CPA Is and Why It Matters

A Certified Public Accountant is a licensed accounting professional who has completed advanced education, passed a rigorous four‑part national examination with historically low pass rates(*roughly 50% pass rate), and fulfilled supervised experience requirements.

CPAs are regulated by state boards and held to strict ethical and professional standards, including duties of integrity, objectivity, confidentiality, and acting in the public interest.

This license carries legal responsibilities and grants the authority to represent taxpayers before the IRS, prepare complex filings, and provide trusted financial guidance.

The CPA designation signals competence, accountability, and a commitment to protecting the public.
